The expert that I chose is Dr. Jeff M. Allen. He is a Regents Professor in the Department of Information Science at the University of North Texas. Allen is a leading scholar in STEM education, workforce development, and organizational learning, also known for founding and directing research centers focused on workforce innovation and for publishing major peer reviewed journals.
The reason that I chose Dr. Allen is because he is one of the most experienced faculty members in the UNT College of Information. His research correlates with STEM education, workforce readiness, and digital transformation areas that align with your academic interests and strengths. Dr. Allen has produced a large body of scholarly work including articles, presentations, and research projects that are open to the public. His work is commonly used in the graduate programs related to information science, organizational development, and STEM learning.
Dr. Allen’s work focuses on three main things, STEM Workforce Development, Human Performance & Learning Technologies, Organizational Innovation & Knowledge Management and lastly, STEM Education Pathways. We will go more in depth with each one.
1. STEM Workforce Development studies how organizations can prepare employees for rapidly changing tech environments. It also looks into skill gaps, training models, and the impact of digital transformation on workforce readiness.
2. Human Performance & Learning Technologies researches how people learn in tech environments and develops frameworks for improving performance through design and information systems.
3. Organizational Innovation & Knowledge Management explores how organizations create, store, and use knowledge to innovate. This also Investigates the role of information systems in supporting decision making and collaboration.
